Investment Purchases

Mortgages to Help You Achieve Your Investment Goals Faster

Real estate has helped shape many of the world’s wealthiest people, making property an enticing investment.

With a little Mortgage Savvy, you’ll feel confident you’re making an informed financial decision when it comes to your investment purchase.

Unlike the mortgage on your principal residence, financing an investment property is slightly more complex. The qualification criteria are often tougher to meet, and interest rates can also be higher.

What You Need to Know About Investment Properties in Canada:

  • As of April 19th, 2010, Canadians are required to make at least a 20% down payment on non-owner occupied investment properties.
  • If you plan on living in one of the units, your down payment could be as little as 5-10% (depending on the total number of units).
  • If your down payment is 20% or more, you may qualify for a 30 or 35-year amortization period.

We want to get you the most value for your money.
